A Perfect Summer Sweater Outfit
Posted by Bri Cain on 21st May 2015
We've talked a lot on this blog about styling knits for summer. Accessories play a big part in achieving the look. If you go out wearing a turtleneck sweater with dark jeans and boots in June, people might look at you funny. But if you select a light pant and summer appropriate footwear like an espadrille or a metallic sandal, the look appears comfortable and right on trend. It's best to stick with a lighter color palette during the summer months, especially when wearing visually heavy fabrics.
When it comes to hair and makeup, keep it light and natural. Personally, I prefer summer makeup. It feels amazing to lose the heavy layer of foundation in favor of a lightweight tinted moisturizer with a touch of lipgloss and bronzer. As far as hair goes, let your natural texture shine and avoid styles that are structured and fussy, like perfectly flat-ironed hair and up-dos, which are more appropriate in fall and winter. Here's a look we put together featuring one of our favorite sweaters that would be just perfect for a casual summertime dinner or a day of shopping at the coast.
