Why You Need To Follow Our New Alpaca Fashion Blog

“Eagle-eyed buyers and editors may notice a curious uptick in the use of alpaca – a mohair-like material usually associated with momish twinsets – on the runways this season,” explained a recent article entitled "Why You'll Be Seeing Lots of Alpaca on the Runway This Fashion Week" on Fashionista.com. When we at Sun Valley Alpaca Co. ran across this piece, we felt both enthusiastic that the fashion industry is finally coming around and struck by the sadly inaccurate representation of our beloved fiber. “A mohair-like material?” “Associated with momish twinsets?” Please!
Alpaca is the superior fiber when it comes to knitwear. It has a long history, once considered the crème de la crème in fashionable circles of the nineteenth century, and today it's once again being translated into sought-after modern styles. (And as if you need another reason to buy an alpaca sweater, let's be serious-- have you ever seen an alpaca? They're adorable!)
We've decided to view this article as a reminder that not everyone is as obsessed with alpaca as we are! (They should be!) We want to take this opportunity to spread the word, starting with a super fab new blog designed to educate about the benefits of alpaca and inspire with examples of stylish knitwear and other fun finds. And really, isn't it about time Sun Valley joined the blogging scene anyways?
All of this is going to be coming to you from me, Sun Valley Alpaca Co's very own official blogger! My name is Bri, and I'm a newcomer to Sun Valley Alpaca Co. Educated in art, with a background in retail, and over five years of experience blogging about fashion and weddings, I'm excited to bring my knowledge to this blog and learn more about alpaca with you along the way!
